About
Nikola Tsolov, born in Sofia on December 21st, 2006, and known as “the Bulgarian Lion”, is a young Bulgarian driver already on the path to establishing himself as one of the standout talents in Formula Racing. He is relentlessly pursuing his ambition, not just to compete but to excel at the highest levels.
His journey started on the outskirts of Sofia when his parents enrolled him in a driving course. Soon after, at just 9 years old, Nikola was crowned Bulgarian Kart Champion in the Mini category, a title he successfully defended the following year, showcasing his undeniable talent and launching his career onto the international stage.
Among his many achievements, standout moments came in 2020 and 2021, competing with DPK FA Alonso Kart. He followed in the footsteps of current F1 drivers like Lando Norris, Carlos Sainz Jr., and Daniil Kvyat, who also built their early careers with this chassis.
In early 2022, Nikola made his debut in Formula racing alongside the Alpine F1 Academy. However, this was not the only support the young driver received. A14 Management, co-founded by two-time Formula 1 World Champion Fernando Alonso, has provided crucial guidance and resources to help Nikola pursue his ambitions on his #RoadToF1 journey.
The young driver stunned the motorsport community with his remarkable performance in the Spanish F4 Championship, demonstrating his potential through these standout statistics:
• 13 Victories in 21 races
• 18 Podiums
• 15 Pole Positions
These impressive results paved the way for his entry into the highly competitive FIA Formula 3 Championship in 2023, where he became the third youngest driver ever to score points.
In 2024, as a second-year driver in FIA Formula 3, Nikola cemented his reputation as one of the category’s brightest young stars by securing three dominant victories — becoming one of only two drivers to win three or more races that season.
The 2025 season marked another major step in Nikola’s career. Reuniting with Campos Racing under the Red Bull Junior Team banner, he established himself as a consistent front-runner and team leader, finishing the season as Vice Champion in the Drivers’ Standings. His performance was instrumental in helping Campos Racing secure the Teams’ Championship, with Nikola contributing the majority of the team’s points across the season.
Across his three years in FIA Formula 3, Nikola achieved five career victories, setting a new all-time record for the most wins by a driver in the championship and reinforcing his reputation as one of the most promising young talents on the #RoadToF1.
