Nikola Tsolov will make his Formula 2 debut with Campos Racing, stepping in for Pepe Martí for the final two rounds of the 2025 season in Qatar and Abu Dhabi. Martí recently confirmed his move to Formula E, creating an opening in the number 3 car which Nikola will take over for the remaining events of the year.
Nikola will join forces with Arvid Lindblad, forming an exciting new Red Bull Junior Team duo under the Campos Racing banner. The Bulgarian driver will continue representing the Red Bull Junior Team through the 2026 season, when he will compete in his first full Formula 2 campaign.
This debut marks an important milestone in Nikola’s journey through the ranks of international motorsport. After a strong Formula 3 campaign, the move up to Formula 2 offers him the chance to gain valuable experience in one of the most competitive and technically demanding series in the world.
The rounds in Qatar and Abu Dhabi will be the perfect opportunity for Nikola to familiarise himself with the car and the race weekend structure, while building confidence ahead of the 2026 season. Both circuits are known for their challenging layouts and unique characteristics, making them an ideal stage for Nikola to demonstrate his speed and adaptability at the highest level of junior single-seater racing.
“It’s a pleasant surprise to be making my FIA Formula 2 debut already this year for the final two rounds. I’m very grateful to Campos Racing and Red Bull for their trust and for giving me this opportunity. I’ve been working extremely hard and feel ready to take this step. I’m looking forward to learning as much as possible and gaining valuable experience ahead of 2026,” said Nikola Tsolov.
